Crystal Spotlight: Selenite

Selenite is a widely beloved crystal essential to the collection of crystal healing enthusiast. Its powerful high vibrations are felt even by those still new or not yet accustomed to picking up on crystal energy. It's often referred to as "liquid light" due to its gorgeous luster, which is often associated with the light of the full moon.
Commonly a white translucent crustal, selenite comes in other colors both natural and dyed. Selenite is most commonly associated with the crown and third-eye chakras, but is also known to assist with blockages in the sacral chakra as well. It's high vibrations are known to dispel negative energies from spaces in which it is kept, as well as to attune its user to their higher spiritual self. Selenite brings mental clarity, and is an ideal stone to meditate with when you are focusing on making large or complex decisions. Since it removes blockages in the upper chakras, it is also a good crystal to meditate with when we are working on developing our intuition and psychic gifts.
Selenite crystals are naturally self charging, and can be used to charge and cleanse other crystals in your collection. Selenite naturally lends itself to being formed into wands and towers (often used to make selenite lamps) that can be used as important spiritual tools. Use a selenite want to pass energy from one point to another, pass a selenite wand over you to clear negative energies, or place one beneath your feet for 15 minutes to pull negative energies from your body and clear you thoughts. Selenite can also be worn as jewelry to help keep you focused and mentally clear in stressful situations, or to raise your vibrations and help you to attune to your psychic gifts and intuitive messages.
Selenite is an ideal crystal to use in full moon rituals and grids, but he careful not to put selenite in water or get it wet, as this will deteriorate and harm the stone. Selenite is widely available in metaphysical shops and is a great addition to any crystal healing collection.
