Astrology Spotlight: Taurus
Following Aries in the Zodiac is Taurus, a fixed earth sign represented by the bull. Like other earth signs, the color green is associated with Taurus, and the ruling planet for Taurus is the planet of love and relation, Venus. Understanding what it means to have Taurus as your sun, moon, or ascendent sign gives us a peek into how our personalities were shaped by the location of this sign at our time of birth.
Sun:
A Taurus sun sign is patient, reliable, and honest. Taurus is a practical sign, thinking things through and taking their time to contemplate the best choices. Often conventional, Taurus sun signs can be stubborn at times and set in their ways. Nonetheless, this stubbornness helps them to accomplish goals doggedly and with great will and determination. Furthermore, these signs can be conventional and set in their ways if not balanced out by a more progressive sun/ascendent sign, and this conventionality and stubbornness can be frustrating to more progressive personalities.
Ascendent:
Our ascendent sign gives us insight in to how people perceive us and how we act in the public sphere. The ascendent Taurus is patient, slow, and strong-willed. This is a sign with some of the greatest stamina. Their personality is not abrasive, and they come off as gentle and stable people. An ascendent Taurus will often be seen as cautions and carful, thinking things through before making choices. They are determined, and at times singleminded, they prefer a stable life to one of adventure and possibility. Like other Taurus positions, they enjoy the fine things in life, but are not extravagant in their appearance or possessions. On the negative side, these signs can be quite possessive in their emotional connections, and should be carful of this quality in romantic relationships.
