Cancer follows gemini in the zodiac. It is the fourth sign represented by the crab and is a cardinal water sign. Ruled by the moon, cancer is emotional and like other water signs associated with the color blue. Sun:

A cancer sun is emotional and caring. Cancer is a sign associated with home life, and these signs are happy when their home life is in order and they are in happy union with the ones they consider family. A lunar Cancer is prone to high emotions and sensitivity, and is happiest when they are surrounded by the familiar comforts of home. This sign is extremely sentimental, and can often get wrapped up in their thoughts and memories of times and places that were important to them. This can leave the lunar Cancer seeming clinging at times. A lunar Cancer is quiet and in touch with their feelings. They are most secure when things are peaceful and straightforward. Boundaries are a struggle for a lunar Cancer, and they can have a hard time compartmentalizing their lives. While this highly sensitive sign need to be treated with gentleness, they are dependable despite their occasional moodiness.

Ascendent:

The ascendent sign tells us more about how we are perceived and behave in the public sphere. Ascendent Cancer is often preceded as gentle, preferring the background to the spotlight in social situations. Thought they can be protective of their fragile emotions and come across as shy, they appear to be kind souls who care deeply about others. This sign has an familiarity and an innocence about it that makes them quite approachable in the eyes of others, however, the ascendent Cancer must be careful that they are not to far withdraw into themselves to be approached by others. In relationships this sign seeks security and well defined rules. Family oriented, they seek a partner with family ideals in mind.
